It’s beginning to feel a lot like…
This month is the perfect time to start getting in the festive spirit, with Bracken Ridge Baptist Church hosting its annual Christmas is Coming event.

The popular community event features Christmas markets, food, live entertainment and gingerbread making workshops.

Bracken Ridge Baptist Church Pastor, Graham Way, said the event was a great opportunity to get together and celebrate the Christmas season.

“We want to encourage families to spend time together and just love to see parents and their children working on their gingerbread houses together. No screens, phones or TVs, just families enjoying time together,” Pastor Graham said.

“Entry is free, you can come and browse the markets and enjoy the music but you need to book and prepay for your gingerbread house kits.”

Original gingerbread and chocolate house kits are available in gluten and dairy free options. Additionally, the supplied gingerbread house kits are free from added colours, flavours and preservatives and are egg and nut free. The house kits are $30 each or you can choose a $5 gingerbread man kit. The church will provide all the lollies and frosting you need to create your gingerbread masterpiece. You will also be given packaging to get your finished products home safely.

There will also be plenty to do and see for those not participating in the gingerbread making workshops.

“We have local artist, Jack Sweeney, providing music during the event and there will be Christmas markets and a few food trucks,” Pastor Graham said.

The Christmas is Coming event is held in the lead up to Bracken Ridge Baptist Church’s other major Christmas event, Carols by Candlelight, scheduled for 15 December at Norris Rd State School Oval.
