New Groove Jazz Ensemble perform at Sandgate Town Hall on the second Sunday of every month. This month, vocalists, Trina Lincoln and Vin Paradis will still be leading the band with some great tunes – however, they will be focusing on more than just music, as the group aims to raise money for the recent bush fire crisis.
Music director, Ken Lincoln, said the cause is one which is close to their hearts.
“One of our musicians is a firefighter that has been fighting the fires here in Queensland and may soon be heading down to NSW to help fight the fires there,” Ken said.
“These fires have affected so many people, and their devastation is so widespread, that we are pleased to be able to give any assistance we can by donating the proceeds of our February concert to provide some relief for someone in need.”Tickets are available at the door and are $15 per adult / $10 concession. Entry includes afternoon tea and all proceeds from the concert will go to Red Cross Disaster Relief and Bat Conservation and Rescue QLD.
