New Owners Hook a Winner at Flinders Seafood & Bar
For those in the know, the fish and chip scene in Sandgate is one of the most coveted and in-demand feeds in Brisbane.

But a changing of the guard is afoot at popular hotspot Fish on Flinders, which will be now known as Flinders Seafood & Bar.

Former owners Trevor and Cheryl Connolly have handed the baton on to some familiar faces in the Sandgate business community - Adrian Gard and Steven Dooley, who also own popular fishery Shelley Inn at Shorncliffe.

The pair said that the location and the facilities at Fish on Flinders had been on their mind for quite some time.

We had spoken to Trevor and Cheryl about taking over management at Flinders, but the time was not right, Steven said.

When COVID-19 hit Trevor and Cheryl decided to call it a day so we struck a deal with the Connollys to buy the business.

The business is now undergoing a refit, with the doors to swing open this month.

We love everything about it: the location, the layout, and most of all we love getting to see a great establishment like Flinders thrive again, Steven said.

Flinders Seafood & Bar has it all. Beautiful alfresco dining, function room with a bar, gluten-free menu, cakes, Cleanskins Coffee, fresh seafood, yummy burgers, cold beers, wines and spirits, and of course ice cream.

Steven said the community's feedback about a fresh new look at the eatery had excited them most about their new venture.

Flinders is an essential part of the Sandgate waterfront, Steven said.

People flock down there in droves to enjoy the natural beauty of Sandgate waterfront. Being on the main tourist drive, people need a great place to unwind and take it all in.

Our patrons love it because of the large range of gluten free products, the fact you can grab a beer while the wife and kids play across the road in Frank Doyle Park. Or that you can quickly grab ten bucks of hot chips and go back to the aquatic centre to enjoy all the pool and slides.
