Sue’s Korner in Boondall has been added to a list of sites that Brisbane City Council plans upgrade as part of its Village Precinct Projects improvement program.
Deagon Ward Councillor Jared Cassidy said he was pleased with this latest announcement.
“After petitioning and advocating for improvements to Sue’s Korner over the past three years, I am proud to announce that a million dollars in funding has been secured for the Sue’s Korner Village Precinct Project,” Jared said.
“Sue’s Korner is iconic to people who live in Boondall and those who travel through. These upgrades will be a really welcome addition to the community.
“This hard-won funding will go towards improving the amenity and accessibility of the iconic local shops, ensuring that Sue’s Korner remains a strong part of the Boondall community for years to come.
“Expected improvements to the ‘Korner’ include footpath upgrades, street gardens and trees, bike racks, bins, water fountains, and the potential for a public art installation. This and much more is detailed in the project plans outlined for completion in 2022-23 and is very exciting news moving forward.”
