Women Lead IWD Celebrations with Bramble Bay Deadly Runners
The Indigenous Marathon Foundation and Bramble Bay Deadly Runners invite everyone to enjoy a wonderful community-minded event in the first International Women's Day Warrior Run.

The theme for this year is 'Women Lead' and the Deadly Runners look forward to celebrating all the strong, beautiful, and amazing women leaders amongst its own as well as in the greater community. With the choice to walk or run either 3km or 5km, Deadly Run coach Gabrielle Tochterman said everyone was encouraged to participate.

We are surrounded by so many supportive women ' we want to acknowledge all women and celebrate an inclusive community, Gabrielle said.

We invite everyone to join us in recognising the women we love and admire and to set examples for our young women and future women leaders.

It's a great opportunity to get outside, enjoy nature and meet some of our Deadly Runners, she said. And who doesn't love a barbeque?

We hope people feel happiness from the day, and a sense of appreciation. People will get to spend time with family, friends, and community. It's a chance to learn what Deadly Runners is all about and enjoy being together.

International Women's Day is a time to reflect on how far women have come in their struggle for equality, and celebrate the courage and determination of the women who change history. It is also an opportunity to unite, network, and act to make the future better for everybody.

Gabrielle's daughter, artist Zoe Carson, recently created an artwork as her own contribution to the day. Zoe said An Ode to Women was her most important painting so far, and depicted her connection to her culture and her womanhood.

With International Women's Day coming up, I painted the strong yet delicate journey of being women, Zoe said.

It's an ode to amazing women everywhere; I am an amazing woman because of those who have influenced me.

An Ode to Women will be on display at the event.

Gather friends and family for a community-spirited day celebrating all women.
