Boondall has beefed up its biltong stocks thanks to the delicious offerings from Your Biltong Buddy ' and if you've ever fallen in love with the deep, rich flavours of South African fare, they will indeed become a buddy of yours.

Owners Alan Abrahams and partner Elsa are passionate about biltong (a dried, cured meat) and love bringing the flavours of South Africa to north Brisbane.

We love biltong and jerky and believe the whole of Australia should share in these delicious and tasty morsels at an affordable price,� Alan said.

Australians are adventurous and enjoy exploring new tastes and with flavours including chilli, swagman, Texas, and customer favourite, savanna, we have something for everyone and every taste.� �

As well as a range of tasty biltong and jerky, Your Biltong Buddy provides an impressive range of boerewors, dry wors (dry sausage in a variety of flavours), coffee, home-baked goods, South African and international groceries and beer.

Alan's career has taken him in many different directions, but his passion for South African fare drove him to open Your Biltong Buddy in 2019.

After moving to Australia from South Africa in 1988 as a diesel mechanic, I worked in mechanics, built and sold houses, worked in a South African-themed restaurant and owned an Orchy distribution, as well as a pizza shop,� he said.

For the last nine years I owned a few South African shops selling groceries, biltong and jerky, and even ventured into biltong distribution, before I realised my heart was with the customers and the interactions I had with them.

Elsa and I started a new brand, Your Biltong Buddy, and the rest is history.�

The Boondall store is all about South Africa, with products including a select range of south African and Zimbabwean groceries, home-baked sweets like Koeksister, Durban-style samosas and homemade rusks, as well as their signature range of biltong, jerky and sausages. �

We love being a part of the Boondall community ' it's an area where neighbours still connect and look out for each other,� Alan said.

As well as providing South African fare, Your Biltong Buddy is a place where neighbours and friends meet, have a chat and connect.�
