Celebrating The Ladies
In the words of Beyonce ' who run the world? Girls¯. The Brighton Roosters Rugby League Club agrees, and is hosting a ladies day event to celebrate and acknowledge the women in the community, and to encourage more women's interest in rugby league.

Although the day is celebrating all things female, the goal is to raise funds to make some much-needed renovations and upgrades to the 52-year-old football club.

One of the club coaches and head of events sub-committee Tim Williams said this was the club's first ladies day, and they hoped to make it an annual event if it was successful.

Erin from Serene Spaces is organising massages, make-up tutorials and will make sure all the ladies are pampered and having a great time,¯ Tim said. Wild Cherry Events is catering the day with their specialised hot and cold platters.¯

Tim said to frock up as there would be a best-dressed prize on the day, along with raffles, a silent auction, and many other giveaways.

We've been pretty lucky to get a lot of donations on board from different businesses,¯ Tim said. There's been photographers and florists, and some different businesses around that have contributed some nice prizes together.¯

There are two different ticket packages available for the ladies day event. They both include entry and food; the $99 ticket includes an alcoholic drink package, where the $79 package caters to the non-drinkers.

Live music on the day is still to be announced and the grade A players will be proudly wearing pink socks for their game on the day.

The Brighton Roosters are also looking forward to showing off their new concrete deck that is being constructed with a federal grant they were awarded this year.

We've got a great little community down here in Brighton, Sandgate, and the 4017 area,¯ Tim said. We are encouraging anyone that's local to come down and attend,   whether you're interested in football or not.

The event is about raising funds but also to acknowledge the women in the community.¯

To enjoy a pamper and a wine or two, round up your girls and book your ladies day event tickets at www.eventbrite.com and search Brighton Roosters Ladies Day 2021.
