Support for Sick and Premmie Babies
Every year, the Life's Little Treasures Foundation raises funds and awareness for the families of 48,000 babies born prematurely or sick each year.

Their flagship fundraiser is the Walk for Prems, and this year Arthur Davis Park will be the starting point for the five-kilometre walk. There is also a virtual option due to COVID, where registered participants can walk their own route in October and still raise much-needed donations.

The event will start with a 'releasing of the doves' ceremony to pay tribute to the babies who didn't make it. There will be food stalls, face painting, entertainment, and a scavenger hunt for the kids.

Life's Little Treasures digital marketing coordinator Belinda Algie said this year's goal was to raise $360,000, allowing the organisation to continue helping families in need for a further 12 months.

In the past 12 months, families have been doing it tough, particularly families or premature and sick babies with all other restrictions in place, Belinda said.

They're more isolated than ever, not being able to have that traditional support network. Our services are really needed now more than ever, to really try and ease some of the burden on those families.
