Sandgate Lights Up for Santa
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas as Sandgate prepares for the Jingle All The Bay street party this month.

Sandgate Bayside Chamber of Commerce president Bill Gollan said this year would be bigger and better than the last, with amazing light displays and a street parade that will have your family talking until the next festive season.

We've got rides, we've got market stalls, we've got food stalls, we've got live music. It's fabulous free entertainment with a big live show street parade, Bill said.

We're encouraging all businesses and residents in the area to light up over Christmas and encourage people to get out and about and enjoy what we present for our area.

Bill said the evening was a fantastic community effort as neighbourhood bars and restaurants got involved to showcase local musical talent in their venues after the main event.

We believe this is probably the biggest community-based Christmas party in Brisbane, Bill said.

Families can enjoy the parade and then the parents can enjoy the music in some of our local venues.

Bill is encouraging everyone to support the local businesses holding market stalls as part of the event, by purchasing Christmas gifts from them after the tough year they have all endured.

Santa will be there in the unique Sandgate way ' he comes in a boat, he parks the reindeer and the sleigh at the Sandgate border, and participates in the street parade, he said.

There will also be an appearance from the Grinch and Whoville characters, and Remax is putting on a Selfies with Elfies area within the Winter Wonderland.

Winter Wonderland will be in Fourth Avenue and will also have a huge snow machine provided by The Professionals.

This is the fifth year that the Christmas Light competition has been held and Bill said it was great to see all the businesses getting involved in lighting up Sandgate and the community voting on their favourite displays.
