Two Sandgate mums with a friendship spanning more than a decade have launched a new business that's all about finding some 'me time'.

Janice Barrie and Joanna Beresford are the brains behind Bask & Blue, which offers pamper packages and gift packs delivered Australia-wide.

Janice and Jo struck up a friendship at a local playgroup, as recent arrivals to the country ' Janice from Scotland and Joanna from New Zealand.

We both had young children and were away from our families, so we bonded quite quickly,� Jo said.

Janice and Jo have often talked about starting a business together.

Our kids are a bit older now and we were in a position where we could start something,� Janice said.

We have always liked to gift each other and we thought why not start making up packages for friends. Women love to give gifts to their friends and so the business is aimed at gifting for friends and also for yourself.�

The name Bask & Blue comes from Janice and Joanna's love of basking under the sun in the blue skies of Australia�.

And they are committed to showcasing other small businesses in their packages.

We trial everything ourselves and we like to offer products that are a bit different from other small businesses,� Joanna said.

They're not products from big organisations, although some might be brands you know. But generally we like to feature unique products.�

So far there are up to 17 different pamper packages on offer, with gift boxes for teens, mums, and a special TLC package for someone in aged care or in hospital.

We can also tailor-make a package for you, if you want to pick and choose from other packages,� Janice said.

The pair are hoping to expand the business in the new year.

Our target demographic is women ' we look at something and think, 'that's me, that's what I like',� Janice said.

Jo and I are a great team, we complement each other and we're just so happy doing something that we love.�
