Pencil In This Steampunk Life Drawing Class
Steampunk fashion is ultra cool!

Military styling blends with Victorian-era influences such as corsets, waistcoats and top hats to produce an iconic look perfect to entice the creative in you. And don’t worry if you think you can’t draw – this life drawing class is fun for everyone.

Alison James, Founder of Et Al Gallery and Studio, said that as their recent Halloween-themed class was so popular, she thought it a good idea to offer costume-based classes on a regular basis.

“Life drawing sessions are usually run with nude models,” she said. “I couldn’t find many costumed, so I decided to run my own.

“It’s good to be able to draw the drape of clothing on a body, and steampunk has such interesting clothing and props.”

The class is fun, non-judgemental and a great way to hone your skills.

“We do warmups first with quick sketches and then longer sessions,” Alison said. “I give out small prizes for silly things like most complete drawing in a one-minute sketch or most interesting textures.”

Class costs $30 per person. Life models, snacks and drinks are supplied. Participants bring their own drawing materials.
