Get your kids off their screens and into the fresh air during the Easter school holidays with the Jump Up for Kids outdoor program.
Now in its sixth year, the program is run by a team of experts, including occupational therapist Madeline Avci.
“We have about 7000 square metres on the edge of the Pine River for the kids to run around in, we have forts, we have grassed areas, a hill to slide down and we have lots of items for play like old bath tubs,” Madeline said.
“This is a child-led program, it’s not structured but kids know what to do when they come here, it’s instinctive.”
Children can also help out in the vegetable garden, or explore the creek area.
“The creek is beautiful, it’s very calming for some children,” Madeline said.
“A lot of parents tell us, ‘this is the childhood I had’, so all we’re really doing is turning back the clock. Every child should be outside more.”Numbers are capped at 40 children per day. To book, go to: www.jumpupforkids.com.au and click on the “outdoor play” tab. A full day from 8am to 4pm is $85; a half day from 8am to noon is $50.Jump Up for Kids outdoor program 9-16 April, 8am-4pmAttunga Street, Bald Hills
