Jingle All The Bay

Christmas is about to get twice as exciting in the Sandgate community this year, with not one, but two festive events organised by the Sandgate Bayside Chamber of Commerce.

Next month, the 4017’s annual favourite, Jingle All the Bay, will be joined by the brand new event, Jingle Brews.

Bill Gollan, President of the Sandgate Bayside Chamber of Commerce, said Jingle All the Bay was his favourite event among all of the Chamber’s endeavours.

“It’s such a great celebration of our community,” Bill said. “Bringing together everyone for a giant Christmas party, with food, music, rides, activities, and of course, the parade. What’s not to love about this?”

On Saturday, 2 December, the Sandgate Town Centre will once again undergo a magical transformation into a Christmas wonderland for Jingle All the Bay. Locals and businesses are encouraged to decorate their windows in the lead-up to the event.

Like last year, the festivities will kick off at 3pm and extend into the evening, allowing both locals and visitors ample time to immerse themselves in the holiday spirit.

In addition to delicious food, rides and activities, attendees can look forward to live entertainment, market stalls and a visit from Santa Claus.

Adding to the merriment, Jingle Brews will bring the community and local businesses together for a great afternoon, with all proceeds from ticket sales benefiting Variety Australia, the children’s charity.

Teams have been busy registering for the event, which will take place on Saturday, 16 December. Participants will spend the afternoon hopping between five favourite Sandgate venues, including the Sands Social, Sandgate Post Office Hotel, the Cardigan Bar, Bluenose Betty, and Mr Henderson. Each team will have a unique costume, name and captain, and prizes will be awarded.

“We are so excited to be bringing this brand new event to Sandgate this year,” Bill said. “It will be a great opportunity to enjoy our amazing local venues and have some light-hearted fun while raising money for a great cause.”

Tickets for Jingle Brews are priced at $99 per person and include a pint of beer at each venue, which can be substituted for house wine or a soft drink. Attendees will also receive a souvenir pint glass and light refreshments.
