Playground Works at Arthur Davis Park
Arthur Davis Park playground will receive
an upgrade. After seeking feedback from residents, this was presented to the Parks Team in Council and a procurement process is now underway for this project. There are several elements to the upgrade that will incorporate community feedback. The tender should be awarded early in the new year with design drawings being done after Christmas.
Foreshore Picnic Furniture Upgrade
The picnic furniture along Lovers Walk will be replaced as part of the Sandgate foreshore furniture project. The aim of the project is
to spruce up the current picnic areas with new style picnic tables and chairs, replacing the ageing mesh type currently installed.
The project is expected to be completed by Christmas.
Deagon Skatepark
Repairs
The Deagon Skatepark will have some
repairs made to improve sections of the skatepark, which should be completed later in the financial year. It will include cutting out and replacing damaged sections and some grinding of others. This will extend the life of the skatepark, however, there is a proposal for a project of up to $500,000 to replace and upgrade the skatepark currently listed for consideration at next year’s Council Budget.
Small Dog Off-Leash Area
Council have confirmed an upgrade to the Decker Park dog off-leash area. The project works will include re-aligning the current fence and expanding the area to include a new separate small dog off-leash area. The project is due to be completed in February 2022.
