Preece's Settles In On The Park

One of Shorncliffe's most beloved eateries, Cafe on The Park, has relaunched under the experienced ownership of Grant Preece and family, with a fresh new look and name, Preece's On The Park.

Preece's On The Park cafe is the second venture for the family, with popular Redcliffe waterfront cafe, Preece's at The Jetty, an already long-time favourite among locals.

Owner, Grant Preece, said the beautiful former Cafe On The Park building and picturesque location were the main deciding factors, when starting the cafe.

The history of the building and the feeling of warmth you get when sitting in the cafe and looking out at the amazing view is second to none,� he said.

This is a special place and you get a real sense of pride when driving through and visiting this area. �

People love living here and we are proud to be part of this community.�

Grant said everything, from the food to the coffee and even the name, Preece's on the Park is all about family.

We are a family-owned and run business and have been working together for eight and a half years,� he said.

My brother, Michael, and his wife, Chris, are in charge of the food and they bake all our amazing cakes and sweets, while my sister, Sandi, and I are in charge of the front of house operations and pump out great Merlo coffee time after time.

Between the four of us we have over 90 years of hospitality experience, ranging from pubs, cafés, bakeries and fast food venues.�

Preece's On The Park officially opened its doors at the end of October after a mini-facelift. It has welcomed great feedback from customers, old and new, who have been impressed with the café's culinary offerings and warm customer experiences.

We offer delicious home-made cakes with lots of gluten free options, Merlo coffee and great café-style food,� Grant said.

We make as much food as possible on-site, including our popular vanilla slices, which are one of our signature desserts.

It is also very important to us to try and recruit people who have a passion for customers ' we like to get to know our regulars by name and even orders.�
