Dancing In The Dark With Ed Sheeran

Everyone's favourite red-headed musical maestro is coming to Sandgate Town Hall ' in the shape of Trent Sellars.
Vocalist Trent Sellars transforms into Ed Sheeran for his tribute show alongside instrumentalist Ebony Hamacek. It will be a show filled with all of Sheeran's chart-topping hits and some of his most recently released songs.
Trent said they originally created the show six years ago at Brisbane Powerhouse for a competition ' before making it into a cabaret special for Valentine's Day at Moreton Bay Theatre Company in 2019.
This time, it's myself and great instrumentalist Ebony Hamacek, Trent said. She's an all-rounder and plays the piano, the guitar, and the electric. She covers me while I do all the vocals and pretend to be Ed Sheeran.
We throw in some puns, British humour, and a bit of pub trivia in the middle to break it up. There's also a bar so people can enjoy a drink and listen to some great music.
The main producer for this show is Lynch and Paterson. They are a great production company in Brisbane, and they do a lot of stuff with the Sandgate Town Hall. They're backing me 100 per cent with this one.
Trent said it was his first show since before COVID, and he was excited to be on the stage again. The show will run for 90 minutes and is broken into two sets.
It's a brilliant way to spend a Saturday night, Trent said. Every song is known by the general public. Even if you don't think you know all Ed Sheeran's songs, you would've heard them on the radio. He's so well promoted around the world. He's a really genuine dude, so it's nice to play someone who is authentic and kind.
It is definitely a show to bring a partner or a date to as there are plenty of opportunities for a slow dance, and then there's the more upbeat songs at the end to dance to ' for those that have had a few too many beers.
