Classical Comeback
Take a journey throughout history with the South East Queensland Symphonic Winds concert band in Sandgate this month as they perform classical pieces that will entice your ears with the sounds of beautiful, popular classics from across the ages.

Musical director Adam Pittard said the band was very excited to be back at the Sandgate Town Hall this year performing to the community after a disastrous 2020. The reason we've called this concert It's a Classic is because the music is a mix of classical music, and classical music for concert bands ' which is what we are, Adam said.

It's a lot of favourites, a lot of music that people would recognise ' some music of Bach, Beethoven, of Ravel and Tchaikovsky. And then we're doing some music which people might not be as familiar with, but I'm sure everyone will absolutely love it.

Adam said the band consisted of 60 members, and the show would go for 90 minutes. COVID-safe rules will apply and Adam urged everyone to arrive half an hour earlier as there would be limits to tickets on the day.

It's a return to live music, Adam said. It'll be a chance to see the South East Queensland Symphonic Winds again, we have a little bit of a fan club amongst Sandgate, which is really terrific.
