Sandgate is Ready to Rock
The Sandgate Youth Festival is set to take to the stage this year after being live-streamed in 2020 due to the pandemic.

The festival will give the community a family-friendly event to enjoy, by showcasing the talents of local young people who don't get the opportunity to perform regularly.

Councillor Jared Cassidy is proud to partner with Brendon Hofmeier from Beat Connection to host the event for the third year running.

He said the judges had a difficult job selecting the finalists to perform, as the festival received the largest number of entries to date, with many quality acts to choose from.

It is so great to be able to give young people the opportunity to perform to a live audience in their own neighbourhood,ť Jared said. We are so fortunate to have such talented young locals.ť

The acts are a mixture of bands and solo artists, with some doing covers and others performing their original music.

The ten finalists to wow the audience this year are Ten12, Dublin Rose, GF United, Duck Egg Blue, Tabitha Lee, Benson, Supercharge, Mackenzie Grace and Loose Cannon.

The winner of the event will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize.
