Bring the police beat to you
Northside residents can now put in a request to “bring the beat” to their suburb. The mobile police beat is like a police station on wheels, where community members can visit and seek advice and support from officers. They can be strategically deployed at short notice where needed most, responding to changes in crime, trends, and community concerns.

You can apply to bring the beat to your area, by submitting a form online at mypolice.qld.gov.au/brisbanenorth/2024/02/15/bring-the-beat

Local sports stars on the rise
St Patrick’s College Year 12 student Zac Leggett has been selected for the Australian Baseball U18 squad travelling to Florida in October. Zac is the only Queensland pitcher to be selected. He was chosen for his outstanding performance playing in the Queensland team at the Australian Youth Championships which were held in Sydney in January, and from his stats playing for his club this season. Well done, Zac!

And from Sandgate District State High School, Year 12 student Shesscintle took to the international stage with the Australian team, NOVA, in the senior elite 12 division for synchronised ice skating. The first competition took place in Dumfries, Scotland, where Shesscintle and her team achieved a remarkable feat, securing a gold medal and clinching the top spot on the podium.

Continuing their journey, they travelled to Rouen, France, for the second competition, where their stellar performance earned them a respectable 5th place finish. Well done to Shesscintle and her team!
