4017 Bayside Art Trail
The 4017 Bayside Art Trail will this year feature many talented artists in a variety of mediums; from beachfront sculptures to pottery and wheel-throwing, as well as printmaking, paintings, drawings, watercolours, oils and acrylic.

The Art Trail provides a unique opportunity to speak with artists and to witness their artistic approaches and processes, as well as the opportunity to acquire original artwork.

Pete Martin, an internationally recognised artist, will be participating in the Bayside Art Trail as a featured artist for the Bluewater Art Exhibition. His stunning watercolour paintings are breathtaking, and are often painted from a bird's eye perspective. One of his paintings, Linda's Pier, contours of Shorncliffe, is a beautiful view of our local iconic Shorncliffe Pier.

Pete Martin will also be opening his private studio in Brighton to the public; A fantastic opportunity to view for yourself the large range of watercolour and acrylic paintings which will be on display.

Rick Thomson-Jones, known to locals as Sandgate Rick, will also participate in the Bayside Art Trail. Sandgate Rick is known for his beachfront sculptures and his use of natural materials as well as manmade items.

Owen Hutchison, artist and owner of the Bayside Gallery, is a printmaker whose work is carved into panels of wood, linoleum, and plywood, a skill known as relief printing.

The Coffee Club's featured artist is John Blackley, whose style is described as impressionistic. His oil paintings frequently portray local habitat and architecture.

These are only a few examples of the talented artists whose work will be on display during the Bayside Art Trail. For a full list of participating artists and their opening times and locations, visit the Bluewater Festival's website at www.bluewaterfestival.org.au.

You can also follow Shorncliffe State School's own art trail to view collaborative efforts from students, parents and community members throughout the years. A copy of the school's exhibition map will be available at the school.
